The conference looks at rural needs in the context of the climate change agenda and actions that rural communities can take. Speakers include:
* Dr Stuart Burgess - Chair of the Commission for Rural Communities and the Government's Rural Advocate
* John Mills - Director of Rural Policy, Defra
* James Goodman - Head of Futures, Forum for the Future
* Garry Charnock - Parish councillor, Ashton Hayes, Cheshire - the village with the ambition to be the first carbon neutral village in the UK.
Delegates will be able to attend workshops to look in more detail at actions that rural communities can take, and whether the climate change agenda offers new opportunities -and resources - for communities to address some key rural issues.
