New GBN EMS Seminar Programme Launched - [29-12-2005]

Dear All,

Thanks to support from local companies, Bedfordshire County Council and international standard certifiers, NQA, the monthly GBN Environmental Management Support Seminars have been going from strength to strength over the last year.

Now, the new programme is available for 2006 - and it looks set to be the best year yet! Input from members has helped us develop new sessions and, for the first time, we will be offering CPD certificates for attendees.

I would be very grateful if you could draw attention to the new programme amongst business and managers you may be working with.

Increasingly, companies are being asked to demonstrate their environmental performance and often managers with little or no environmental experience need to learn FAST! Whether new to environmental issues or more experienced, these sessions are here to help managers and are completely free of charge to members.

Drawing on the expert facilitation of international standard certifiers, NQA, as well as experienced GBN Members, these practical sessions can help managers to understand a variety of issues including how to meet supply chain pressure, the grey areas of environmental legislation and how to use environmental performance indicators to set realistic targets and objectives. The 2006 GBN EMS Seminars will help managers going through the process of developing and managing an EMS as well as those who wish to use them as individual stand alone sessions to meet particular interests.

The year starts off at Grudfos Pumps in Leighton Buzzard, on Wednesday 18th January, where we will be using a series of case studies to pull everything together and help managers new to the sessions understand the approach we take.

With all best regards and many thanks for your help,
